Family Time

This past weekend we were in Wausau.  My dad had an aunt and uncle visiting from Florida and my mom had an aunt and uncle visiting from Massachusetts, so we figured it would be a good time to go home and see everyone.  It was a busy weekend for sure, but it was a fun one.  We started the weekend off with a Friday night fish fry with the Scheffler clan.  After dinner we all went to Gma's house for pie (Thanks, Mandy!).

Saturday was the Carmichael Family Reunion at the Town of Texas Town Hall.  Oliver got to spend some fun time with his cousins and I got to see a lot of extended family that I haven't seen for quite a while.  Uncle Johnny and Aunt Judy (the ones visiting from FL) finally got to meet Oliver in person.

One of the fascinations for kids (and some adults) at the Town Hall is the garage where they keep the big trucks.  It's always fun to climb on and explore these big machines.

Saturday night we spent some time at my Gma Marie's house.  We visited with Chuck and Joyce (the ones visiting from MA) and got to see pictures of their newly renovated house.  Ben, Joellen and Aubrey also came by and we got to got to catch up on what's been going on in their world lately.  It's hard to believe little Aubrey is almost 2!  I think Ollie frightened Aubrey a little because he either wanted to kiss her or find her belly button.  He's not shy!

Sunday we went with my parents and sister and Brian's sister to Art in the Park at Marathon Park.  Towards the end the kids were getting restless, so my dad and Brian took Bre and Ollie to play in the park.  Oliver took his first ride on the train at Marathon Junction and LOVED it.  He wanted to more, more, more!

Monday morning we visited my great-grandma Aggie who just recently went into an assisted living home.  It's a wonderful place and they are taking great care of her.  It was nice to see her new home.  

Breanna goes to afternoon Pre-K, so we got to take her to school and visit my mom all in the same stop.  After saying our good-byes we got back on the road for home.  We had busy days but we're glad we could make the trip.  It's always fun to watch Ollie get so excited to see his cousins.  To see more photos from our weekend, click here.
