This was supposed to be a surprise for Oliver on his birthday. On his birthday, back in June, we all met in Minneapolis to celebrate Oliver turning 4 with the plan of surprising him with an Okee Dokee Brothers concert. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans. The night before the show a big storm blew through and did some damage to the park where the concert was going to be held. The show was cancelled, and we went to plan B - the fabulous Como Zoo and Como Town Amusement Park.
Finally, two months later, we were able to really surprise Ollie (and Henry!) with the Okee Dokee Brothers. They were playing at the Town Green just a few blocks from Uncle Matt and Aunt Becky's house. Does he look surprised?
What a fun concert it was! The boys heard some of their favorite songs, and there was a lot of hand-clapping and knee-slapping going on. After the show the boys got to meet the guys! While the Okee Dokee Brothers are not actually brothers (just good friends since they were 3!), I think I know two real brothers who dream of making music together some day.
After the show we found THE BEST little park in the Midwest. A park full of giant musical instruments! The boys were in heaven, and I do believe they could have spent all day there exploring the sounds.
It was so nice to spend some time with Matt and Becky and to visit with Uncle Kent and Carole too. We're so glad Uncle Matt took the day off of work to hang out with us. Thanks for the fun!
We stopped at IKEA on our way out of town. The boys made themselves right at home in one of their display rooms.
Oliver: "Mom, I'm uploading our pictures."
Henry: "Mom, can you turn on a show?"
