February has nearly come and gone. What do we have to show for it? Plenty! This has been a month of a lot of fun and a little bit of frustration. First, the frustration. We FINALLY had a somewhat warm day last Thursday. We topped 40 degrees and the snow was melting like crazy. But then, it rained. A lot. And our one finished room in the basement became full of that rain and melting snow. We've gotten the water cleaned out, and Brian has been working hard to assure no more melting snow finds its way into our home.
But enough of that. On to the fun! My cousins stopped by for a surprise visit one Saturday, and of course happy music was made!
My parents were visiting that same weekend. We were happy to be able to get outside, soak up some sunshine, and go sledding!
The warmer temperatures brought some perfect snowman-making conditions. The boys and I gathered our snowman supplies and - ta-da!. Our snowman.
Henry has some big news! He finished reading/listening to his 1000th book! He joined the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten club at the library in August of 2012. It took us 1 year and 7 months, but we did it! Some of his favorite books:

Oliver and I went to his friend's bowling birthday party and we had a great time! The first couple of times he asked me to help him roll the ball down the lane, but after 3 or 4 frames he declared, "I am definitely strong enough to handle this myself." And of course he was! He was genuinely thrilled (jump up and down, arms in the air thrilled) no matter how many pins he knocked down. It was so fun to watch him bowl.
There are just a couple of days remaining in this month. We hope they are dry days, but we know they will be fun days.
