We've joined a commune! Well, maybe 'community' is a better term for it. We are officially residents of Lyngby-Taarbæk Kommune, or the city of Lyngby. This picture of the manhole cover on our street shows the city emblem. We live a little ways from the Lyngby city center, but it is very easy to get there by bus.When we registered in the city we got our CPR number (like a Social Security number), joined the Danish healthcare system, and were assigned a doctor. The CPR system is slick: once you are entered into it getting signed up for other things (bank accounts, cell phones, etc.) is very easy.
Slowly but surely we are settling in and finding our way around here!
