Christmas Past and Present

One night a year ago, on the way home from dinner at The Taco Shop, we bought a Christmas tree for our apartment at a tree lot on the avenue Østerbrogade. We brought it home, decorated it, and gave it a nice place on our kitchen table.

Your eyes do not deceive you --- it really was that small. But it was a real tree, and it was our tree, and it warmed our home and hearts for the holidays. This year, though, we are happy to have our old tree up in our living room again.

We had a lot of fun decorating the tree because this time it had been two years since we looked at all our ornaments. We were also able to add ornaments from a few new places, and we completed our tree with a string of the Dannebrog (Danish flag).

Oliver loves looking at all the bright lights, but right now we don't have to worry about him pulling the ornaments off --- though he can sit up on his own, he still stays pretty much where we put him. So here's to our last year of a fully-decorated tree!
