Last Sunday I was pampered by my boys. We had breakfast at Caribou Coffee where I enjoyed my favorite Caribou drink: a small decaf (for now) Campfire Mocha with dark chocolate bits sprinkled on top. Delicious. We spent the rest of the morning at the Botanic Garden. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. We took a garden tram ride and then did some walking. The tulips were blooming in full force and they were beautiful. After the garden we had lunch at IHOP. Some of you may think that IHOP is not the glamorous place to go for Mother's Day, and maybe you're right. But my standards for good eating out have changed since becoming a Mom. Now, if the food is good, and Oliver happily eats the food, and I didn't cook it, and I don't have to clean up the dishes, the place gets 5 stars. And IHOP did get 5 stars. We spent the rest of the day running a few errands and just being together at home. I loved it.
I admit it's nice to have a day where you feel so appreciated by everyone you meet. But the lucky thing is, for me, I feel appreciated every day by the people who matter most to me. I have an amazing husband and a sweet little boy who both make me feel so good every day. I couldn't do what I do every day as a Mom without the support and teamwork that Brian provides. So thank you to Brian and Oliver for a wonderful Mother's Day. I am blessed.
