It's Brian's birthday! Woo-hoo! We started some early celebrating this weekend with a trip to Rochester where the birthday boy enjoyed an amazingly huge and delicious Chipotle burrito. (We love La Crosse, but we'd love it even more if it had a Chipotle restaurant.) Here you'll see Brian enjoying his burrito at Noodles & Company, where I enjoyed his free birthday bowl of noodles and the boys enjoyed some mac n cheese. (Noodles & Company... mmmmmm... another restaurant La Crosse could use.)

The weekend was full of quality "boy time" building train tracks, making music, and drawing pictures.

This morning we couldn't wait to give Daddy his presents. He had two very eager helpers at his side.

This afternoon the boys and I tried our hand at baking a homemade cake from scratch. The cake turned out amazing - a yellow layer cake with lemon curd filling. The frosting, however, was kind of a catastrophe. It was a little runny and by the time we were ready to sing Happy Birthday it was running off of the plate. Oops! As they say in the book "Mooseltoe" - "Okay, okay, it wasn't so perfectly perfect. But you know what? It was pretty close."

Oliver loved decorating the cake. He spelled out Happy Birthday Daddy with alphabet cookies. He was so proud!

The boys were so excited all day long that it was birthday day. You would have thought it was their own birthday! We had a fantastic day and we hope your wishes come true Brian! Happy Birthday!
