The Saturday before Mother's Day Brian and the boys kept busy with a very fun project. For many, many weeks Ollie and Henry had been asking to build a playhouse for the backyard. Thanks to our super neighbor who brought us some pallets from his work, they were able to get started. We had a great big chalkboard from Grandpa Steve and Grandma Sara that was waiting for a good use, and this was just the thing. It made a perfect wall for the playhouse.

A couple hours of sanding, sawing, hammering, and washing later we had a fantastic little playhouse in our yard. The boys were so proud of what they created, and it was all their vision.

We were surprised Saturday afternoon when Oma and Papa showed up in our backyard. The boys went right to showing off their new construction. Papa was itching to go fishing, so we took a break and headed to a nearby fishing spot.
On Sunday my sister and her family came to visit for the day, and the whole lot of us went for a Mother's Day hike. It was refreshing and relaxing to get out into the woods together. We taught Papa what a selfie was, and there we are! Our big group selfie. It was a truly a perfect way to top off the weekend.
