Bakken

Today we took advantage of a break in rainy weather and headed over to the deer park for an afternoon stroll.  We walked some paths we hadn't taken before and at the edge of the woods came upon this:

That's the entrance to Bakken, a 425-year-old (that's not a typo) amusement park.  It's closed for the season, but people are free to wander the grounds.  We can't imagine that places in the US would be similarly open.  They have quite a few roller coasters and kiddie rides, and a lot of food stands.  The smell of waffles still lingered at the waffle stand.  The place felt quite deserted, but it was fun to explore.

It's a little surreal walking in the woods and coming upon roller coasters, but it was a fun discovery.  Check out Picasa for more pictures.
