An Open Letter to the President

Dear Mr. President,

We are very excited that you are making a trip to Copenhagen to support Chicago as an Olympic city. We have lived in both Copenhagen and Chicago, so we feel especially qualified to write and recommend 3 things you must not miss while in Copenhagen.

First, enjoy a polser. These can be found at any number of wagons throughout the city. They're pretty much the opposite of a Chicago hot dog: these come only with ketchup, while the Chicago dog comes with everything but. Even if you are busy, the Fransk hotdogs allow you to enjoy with one hand free to wave to the crowds.

Second, visit the Round Tower to see the city from above. If you ask nicely, maybe they'll let you ride up on a horse just like Czar Peter the Great did in 1726. It's not as tall as, say, the Willis Tower (whatever that is), but you will get a great view nonetheless.

Finally, take a canal tour. You will see a lot of the city from a unique vantage point. If you're lucky you'll stumble upon the throngs of tourists taking photos of a tiny statue known as The Little Mermaid. If you're pressed for time, they also have yellow water taxis just like Chicago.

Of course there is much much more to see in this great city that you may not have time for, but we do hope you enjoy your few hours in Copenhagen. It's a wonderful city that we know you'll want to return to.
