Carving Pumpkins

On Saturday our friend Lisa came over to join us for some pumpkin-carving fun. When we lived in Evanston the first time it was a yearly ritual for us.  We would host a pumpkin-carving party full of pumpkins and Pac-Man playing.  This year the party was a bit smaller, with just the three of us plus Lisa.

The year we lived in Denmark our friends continued the tradition without us, and Lisa carved a pumpkin with Brian's face on it.  It was unbelievably good, and looked JUST like Brian.  This year she continued her Merkey pumpkin carving and did one of Oliver.  It is AMAZING.

Oliver, a Viking and an Owl

We always have a lot of fun carving pumpkins.  It brings out the kid in us. Oliver napped through most of the carving this year, and when he woke up he wasn't all that interested in what we were doing. He kept himself busy with his toys while we finished up.  Once they were lit up, though, he loved them!
