One More Broken Sleigh

Christmastime is here again, and we've had Santa and Baby Jesus on the brain. We've done some fun Holiday activities over the past few weeks, and Oliver is SO excited for the season.

We have not one, not two, but three Nativity sets in the house, all kid-friendly, and all played with daily.  It's so fun to watch Oliver play with the cows and shepherds and Baby Jesus and talk out the story. 

We just love with the Rotary Lights at Riverside Park.  What an incredibly beautiful display of holiday lights right along the Mississippi River.  The evening we went was a bit chilly, but the glow of all the lights (and the hot chocolate) warmed our hearts.  We drove through the lights display, took a horse-drawn carriage ride through the park, and then walked and wandered through the lights.  We visited Santa and even got to sit on Santa's sleigh.  I think the sleigh was Ollie's favorite. While we were sitting on it he kept saying "We need to hook up the reindeer so we can fly!".

We've seen our share of Santa while we've been out and about. We saw Santa at a craft fair, at Brian's work party, and at the Rotary Lights.  Each time we see him and he asks Oliver what he wants for Christmas his response is the same.  Celery.

The Christmas season is so fun and magical, and it's even more magical when we see it all through the eyes of our little guys. We are looking forward to the next couple of weeks being full of Ho Ho Hos and Away in a Manger.  Oh, and in case you haven't heard it, the title of this post comes from Oliver's rendition of Jingle Bells.
