We took a quick weekend trip to Des Moines this past weekend to visit Brian's grandparents. Of course we always wish we had more time to spend there, but we did pack a lot of play time into our two days. Oliver had a lot of fun being with his Greats and Henry took it all in as he usually does.
We spent Friday night and part of Saturday with Grandpa and Grandma Merkey, where Ollie discovered Lincoln Logs and their piano.

 |
| Oliver, Brian, and Grandpa Merkey got to see some of the eagles that have been hanging out by a local shallow lake. When we drove by later they had all disappeared. |

Saturday afternoon we headed on over to Grandma and Grandpa Peterson's house, where we got to meet cousin Jay, and Ollie got to sleep on "the bed that popped out of the couch!".

We were so glad we could make the trip to see everyone. As grandparents usually do, they kept us very well fed and we are thankful for all they did to make us feel right at home. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
