This evening we had a group outing for the people taking the course (and Amy) and had a good time. We took a canal tour and saw some of the city from the water. The boats are very short because the bridges are short. Parked in the harbor we saw the Royal Yacht of Denmark's Queen Margrethe and her husband, and across the harbor was Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen's personal yacht; apparently he shows up in Copenhagen every so often because he used to live & work here. (The Queen's ship was much nicer-looking, though probably less technological.)
After the tour we rode a bus to a more distant neighborhood. We had to walk 15 minutes through an industrial area full of "Adgang Forbudt" (no trespassing) signs to get to the Copenhagen Beach Club. The walk was seeming to take us nowhere, but we eventually ended up where we needed to be. The place was very nice and the food was good. We ate outside and had a nice view of the sunset, though it was cold and Amy wrapped herself in two blankets to keep warm. This would be a great place if it were warmer (and if it weren't so remote).
Now we're headed to bed, as we're pretty tired. My course ends tomorrow and we leave for the U.S. on Saturday afternoon.
