We went for a walk this evening into Jægersborg Dyrehave, a forest just a couple of blocks from our place. We've been told that the forest is a beautiful place to walk, but we never expected it would be this beautiful. The forest itself is the perfect forest. It is green and lush and smells like nature. At the other side of the forest is a wide open field with paths that lead up the the building you see here. It's called Eremitagesletten, and it is the hunting "shack" of the Queen of Denmark. Who knew we were living this close to the royals?
Most surprising were the deer that were running through the fields and forest everywhere we looked. We've seen plenty of white tail deer in Wisconsin but these are so much larger. The antlers on the stags are so massive and majestic. We couldn't believe how many deer were running through the fields.
The park is huge and we haven't even begun to see it all. We're definitely looking forward to exploring this place more often.

I have also walked the forest - It is very soothing. If you walk all the way through the park heading east, you will be at the ocean. I don't know how far it is, maybe a bike ride would be better, but it is beautiful.
