We are back from our trip to England and Denmark and we're slowly settling into our old routines again. Brian and I might be doing better if a certain son of ours didn't think 3 a.m. was a perfect time to wake up. That's how it's been every morning since we have gotten back. How long will this time confusion last?
We wanted to share some photos of our last couple of days in Copenhagen. We have posted all of our CPH photos here if you want to take a look.

Astrid and Oliver playing with the ribbons
We celebrated Oliver's birthday with dinner, cake, and boller with Britta and Thomas and the girls. Oliver and Astrid chased some balloons around and had a ball playing with the ribbons from Oliver's gifts.
Wednesday was a busy day for us. We had lunch at DTU with all of Brian's old co-workers. It was really fun to catch up with them again. It really felt like we had never left! They are a good group of people there.

Melissa, Oliver, and Amy at the harbor
That afternoon we met my friend Melissa at the International School. I got to show Brian around the school a little since he had not been there at all while I worked there. We got to see some of my old co-workers and catch up with what's been going on at the school. Then we went for a walk to the beach with Melissa. Oliver enjoyed running around the harbor and it was really nice to spend some time catching up with Melissa again.

Liam and Oliver
At CIS we ran into Kim, Lennart and little Liam. Kim and Lennart were in our birthing class, and Ollie is one month older than Liam. Where Oliver is quiet and reserved, Liam is the complete opposite. He is really chatty and outgoing. The two of them had a lot to catch up on and compare about their first year of life.

Enjoying Skt. Hans Aften
Wednesday night was Skt. Hans Aften (St. John's Eve), a Danish mid-summer's festival. All throughout the country people get together for picnics and bonfires that are intended to ward off evil spirits. Lore has it that this burning is supposed to send the "witches" away to Bloksbjerg, Germany. We went with Britta and Thomas and the girls to the bonfire at their church. It was a beautiful night to be out and enjoy some food out on the lawn. We were happy to finally be able to take part in this tradition. Last year we were a little preoccupied at the hospital on that night getting to know our new baby boy.
