Ollie in the lake
We had a super fun visit with Cian and Niamh yesterday. We spent the afternoon at Gillson Park, a beautiful (and free!) beach park near us. We had a picnic lunch in the shade before heading over to the water. Despite the really hot weather we've been having, the lake was still very cold. The kids didn't seem to mind and all three of them splashed around in the water. Oliver had a great time playing in the sand and "helping" Cian dig a giant hole. Brian took a long lunch break and rode his bike up to meet us for some fun in the sun. The heat index was 105 yesterday and I was worried that the beach was not a smart place to be, but it turned out to be the best place we could have hung out. Thanks to the cold water and the nice lake breeze we kept cool.
