A Week in Wausau

It's hard to believe we're nearing the end of July already. These summer months are flying by! We've been doing a lot of traveling and time seems to go by faster when you aren't at home. Last week Oliver and I spent the week in Wausau while Brian was at a math conference in Pittsburgh.

We started out the weekend together in Wausau at the Scheffler Family Reunion. For 33 years my Mom's side of the family has been getting together at Marathon Park to celebrate being family. We haven't been able to attend the last two years, but this year we were there. It was great to see my cousins and all of the new little babies in the family. Ollie got to spend some time with his cousins and especially enjoyed running through the splash pad to beat the heat. Brian entered the family Horseshoe Tournament, but didn't advance too far. Better luck next time!

Brian flew out to Pittsburgh on Sunday morning. That afternoon my Mom, Breanna, Ollie and I went to see the beautiful chalk art on the square in downtown Wausau. I was amazed at what people could do. It was all so good! Sunday evening we went to watch my cousin Adam's waterski team perform. Ollie liked watching the boats go by and clapped for the skiers each time they went past.

The weekends were busy but the week was quiet and relaxing. We got to spend a lot of time with my parents and sister, grandparents, and some of my cousins. Oliver got to spend some quality play time with his cousins, Breanna and Zach. I'm so glad we had a whole week to hang out and catch up with everyone.
