This past week we were lucky to have a visit from Megan, our very very good friend from Duluth. (We got to thinking, and Megan and I have been friends for 18 years - how can that be? Time flies when you're having fun!) Unfortunately, Megan had to settle for the shortened 'pregnancy' version of tours around Copenhagen. With under 2 weeks to go until baby is due I wasn't up for the long walking adventures we have done in the past. Still, Megan was able to see a good deal of the city's hot spots, and when we weren't touring it was great to relax and catch up on some movies.
Like all of our guests, Megan spent her first day here napping and adjusting to the time change. Tuesday I took her into Copenhagen where we walked the pedestrian streets and took a canal tour. Brian met us after work for a night out at Tivoli. Wednesday we had lunch with Brian at work and then spent some time exploring the stores in Lyngby. Thursday we met some friends at Kongens Have (the King's Garden) where we enjoyed a picnic and a Scottish band competition. Friday we visited Fredericksborg Slot (see below).
Saturday we visited the Frilandsmuseet - an open air museum that is full of historic farm buildings and homes from around Denmark. It is obvious that earlier Danes must have been a bit on the short side. Brian and Megan couldn't quite fit through the doorways. 
Sunday brought the end of Megan's visit. We took her to the airport bright and early that morning and sent her off to the states. We had a great time with her and are truly grateful that she made the journey here. Thanks, Megan!
